Falcon Heene, a six year-old boy who the media and law enforcement officials believed was on-board a homemade balloon that flew across Colorado today amid a media frenzy was found safely in his home.
The boy was found hiding in a box in the attic of the family home in Fort Collins, Colorado. Authorities believe the whole case was what most parents would call "a big misunderstanding". One of Falcon's brothers had reported to his parents that he believed his brother had climbed into the balloon before it broke loose and took flight.
The house and its garage can been seen below:
Why nobody checked the house thoroughly during the 2-hours the balloon was aloft over Colorado remains to be seen. Larimer county sheriff Jim Alderman told reporters that apparently Falcon Heene had "been there the whole time".
