Muslim cleric Anwar Al-Awlaki, a U.S. born citizen and former San Diego and Virginia Imam was invited and attended a meeting inside the Pentagon only months after the 9-11 terrorist attacks. The meeting was disclosed as a part of the FBI investigation into the Fort Hood massacre investigation of Major Nidal Hasan, who is currently on trial for the murder of 13 people at the U.S. Army base in Texas last November. The story was first reported by Fox News National Security correspondent Catherine Herridge.
Al-Awlaki who has been linked to multiple terrorist acts inside the United States is currently believed to be in Yemen. The United States has reportedly placed him on a CIA list authorizing his targeted killing if he is found.
