In the spirit of the season we are starting a new tradition here
at The Enterprise Report.
It's the first annual MEDIA TURKEY AWARDS!
After serious consideration by an esteemed panel* of award winning investigative journalists (*Actually the winner is a direct selection of TER's editor ERIC LONGABARDI)
We have a winner!
ARMEN KETEYIAN of CBS News (photo above) for his '60 Minutes' back slapping, inaccurate, distorted story about how the DEA captured alleged Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout in a sting operation two years ago in Thailand.
In a "Dan Rather like" episode that was reminiscent of the scandal that cost the iconic anchorman his job at CBS News over retracted reporting on former President George W. Bush, Keteyian completely ignored previously reported facts that Bout and most of his air cargo organization had been allowed to acquire and maintain TSA approved and FAA issued American pilot's licenses for decades, in violation of U.S. law. Bout and his cohorts were doing so at the same time the US government was chasing Bout for his alleged arms dealing around the world.
In addition, Keteyian and his crack CBS investigative team failed to report in their story that the US Department of Homeland Security Inspector General has been conducting an investigation of the TSA for serious flaws in detecting and vetting pilot's in the US aviation system for security risks. The DHS-IG investigation has been underway for nearly a year at the time of his report. Bout and many others just like him were previously exposed by TER early this year and by ABC News late last year.
CONGRATUALTIONS! and HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ARMEN AND CBS NEWS INVESTIGATES
(PS.. nothing personal; TER wishes you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving!)
