Over a year and half after stories exposing serious flaws in the process by which the FAA and TSA vet American pilot's licenses to insure known security risks are detected in a series of exclusive investigative reports for The Enterprise Report and ABC News, the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General released its own nearly 2 year long probe into the problem yesterday afternoon.

The report details extensive problems with the TSA and FAA vetting systems for confirming the identities and ferreting out known security risks who have been issued U.S. pilot's licenses. The IG's report revealed the TSA/FAA revoked 27 pilot's licenses in response to the IG's probe. Specifics on who those people are was not disclosed in the report. The IG report did cite individuals first reported in the media reports.
Safe Banking Systems, LLC of New York, a financial business security firm was the first to uncover the extensive problems with the FAA and TSA pilot license vetting systems.
The IG probe was prompted by a congressional request by the Senate's Commerce Committee in early 2010
