This morning the sad news splashed across the media world, Andrew Breitbart, 43 of Los Angeles was dead. Andrew died while out taking a walk near his Brentwood, CA home according to a statement issued by his website.
Andrew was a guy who stood up for what he believed in and didn't back down from a fight, even when he was fighting an 800-pound gorilla in a rigged event. I always admired that.
Andrew and I knew each other for some time.
We even have had occasion to meet each other in person and spend a lunch together recently. We weren't best friends or anything close, but we were pretty well acquainted.
Andrew was a very smart guy. His intellect, wit and humor were as fast and focused as a supersonic jet.
Was Andrew perfect, no he wasn't and neither am I, but what Andrew did to take on the mainstream media establishment as an outsider looking in, is something no one before him had even come close to achieving like he did. Andrew did the stories and espoused the opinions nobody else dared express before. All of it because of the established built-in bias and group-think in the mainstream media that had gone mostly unchallenged until recent years.
My condolences go out to his wife, children and other family.
Keep giving them hell Andrew!, even from your final resting place.
RIP Andrew Breitbart.
You will be missed.
